The Douglas County Sentinel in Douglasville, Georgia is seeking a community-minded journalist for its team in the metro Atlanta area. Candidates should have strong writing skills and the ability to cover both hard news and features. Knowledge of social media and basic photography skills are also musts for this position.

The successful candidate will be someone with the ability to report informative and engaging content under deadline pressure for our print publication, as well as our website and social media channels.

We are looking for someone with at least six months of newspaper experience at a daily or weekly newspaper. Recent college graduates with college newspaper experience or internships at newspapers will also be considered.

The ideal candidate will also have a passion for local news gathering and be comfortable immersing him/herself in this community. Time management, high productivity, good news judgment and unflagging persistence are essential attributes.

The Sentinel publishes three times a week. We offer a solid benefits package with health/life/dental, 401k, vacation, etc.
