SPJ Georgia held its 4th annual Sip & Share fund-raiser on Saturday, Aug. 1, in Atlanta’s South Downtown district. Allison Entrekin, editor-in-chief of Atlanta Magazine, was the emcee.
This signature fundraising event supports SPJ Georgia’s mission to strengthen journalism, promote press freedom and ethical storytelling, and invest in the next generation of media professionals. Tickets are $50 per person.
The event this year was at Ohio River South (235 Mitchell St. SW , Ste 400, Atlanta, GA 30303). The spacious loft is located on Hotel Row, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The previous Sip & Share event was held in Savannah.

A drawing was held for door prizes, which were donated by a number of businesses and individuals.

10% of the proceeds raised went to the scholarship fund at Savannah State University’s Department of Journalism and Mass Communications. 
The event was held at Emma James at Savannah Harbor. 
Special guest Kathryn Wagner, editor-in-chief of Savannah Magazine, addresses the group.
