The Society of Professional Journalists Georgia Pro Chapter is now accepting nominations for the student representative seat on the SPJ Georgia Board. The deadline is March 28.
This position provides journalism and communications students with an opportunity to gain leadership experience, connect with media professionals across the state, and represent student voices within the chapter.
The student representative serves on the SPJ Georgia Board and helps ensure the perspectives and interests of student journalists are included in chapter programming and initiatives.

Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must:
- Be a member of the Society of Professional Journalists Georgia Pro Chapter in good standing
- Be currently studying journalism or communications at a university in Georgia
Responsibilities and Expectations
The student representative serving on the SPJ Georgia Board is expected to:
- Participate in monthly board meetings
- Attend SPJ Georgia in-person and virtual programs and events
- Respond to board communications in a timely manner
This role provides valuable experience in professional leadership, nonprofit governance, and collaboration with journalists and communications professionals throughout Georgia.
