Bending Without Breaking: Mental Health for Journalists

Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter Jeremy Redmon gave a keynote address on how journalists can develop personal resilience at an Oct. 21 event organized by SPJ Georgia, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Atlanta Press Club and the Association of Health Care Journalists.

He spoke about strategies for maintaining good mental health and managing the challenges of the job. His presentation was followed by a peer-to-peer discussion about mental health and self-care for journalists.

Panelists for the discussion were Ellen Eldridge of GPB, AJC president and publisher Andrew Morse, Sophia Qureshi of 285 South and Julien Virgin of WABE. They shared strategies on how to manage stress and build resilience.
